Lovely boutique hotel to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. No TVs, just a quiet reprieve to rest and relax. Perfect! I loved lounging on the hammock and taking the funicular down to the lake. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the grounds are well manicured. The food is good, albeit a bit expensive. I had to set up external tours as I was a party of one and the property had a minimum party size of two for booking tours. I deducted a star for this because in this day & age, solo travel is highly popular and upscale properties should be able to accommodate in my opinion. That or at least refer me to local operator. All in all I would visit again. The on-site staff were friendly. Date of stay: May 2021 |

We stayed three nights and the location of this hotel is gorgeous, in the middle of the lake Petén Itza in the department Petén of Guatemala. Our bungalow was really pretty with many comfortable details and at night we got always lighted candles at our beautiful terrace with Lake view. Also the stuff was incredibly nice and let us feel welcomed at any time. The mix of Guatemalan typical food with an international touch was excellent. We want to thank everyone for making us feel so happy at our stay! It was the perfect getaway in these pandemic times! We recommend this place and can’t wait to be back for another beautiful stay! Best regards Sabine, Sissy & Dillard. Date of stay: April 2021 |

We spent three nights at La Lancha and we enjoyed the site, the bungalows, the restaurant, the pool and the day trips that were arranged by the hotel. The boat trip from Flores was a nice way of arriving. We had spider monkeys visiting us at night and the service was great! Date of stay: March 2021 |

My wife and I loved out stay here. The food was good and the service was amazing! They have a few members on staff that speak English very well. Also, I lost the key to my safe at Tikal and they were extremely helpful breaking the safe open. Date of stay: March 2021 |

Jungle Luxury in Beautiful Surroundings The combination of nature, luxury cabins, pool, lake swimming, kayaking and dining with a view is so successfully done. You really feel at one with nature. The staff is warm and smiling and talkative and just lush. Could have stayed for weeks. They do good Yaxha Sunset tours and Tikal tours. Guide is very knowledgeable! And after a tour just enjoy the surroundings a cocktail with a view. A chat with other guests. A good book while on the boat dock. A swim. You will be sad to wave goodbye! I cannot say enough good things about La Lancha. The property itself is beautiful and the casitas are comfortable and well-appointed. The staff is welcoming and super friendly and make a point of addressing you by name. They ensure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The front desk was proactive in reaching out ahead of arrival to enquire about arranging for a tour to Tikal. This was much appreciated and made for one less thing to think about on the trip. The tour was excellent with water and snacks provided. You can certainly unwind and relax in this fantastic resort. Date of stay: November 2022 |

We had the good fortune to choose La Lancha for our family vacation in August. The setting is incredibly beautiful. The resort is hidden in the rainforest above Lake Peten Itza. We woke up to spider monkeys climbing up the trees and swam daily in the beautiful lake. Tikal is just an hour away and totally awe-inspiring and unforgettable. The resort makes a visit there easy and carefree. We also went into the lovely, little town of Flores, just a 1/2-hour boat ride away. It's worth a visit to walk the cobblestone streets, visit the Cathedral and shop. A combination with Belize or Antigua is a good idea. We highly recommend La Lancha. The service and setting are unbeatable. Date of stay: August 2022 |

Great room, service and location We stayed in one of the newish Rainforest Junior Suites which we thought were fabulous. The room is very spacious with a good lounge area, an enormous double shower and two toilets. The AC a worked very well and the capsule coffee machine is top quality. The verandah has a partial lake view and a very large hammock. All the rooms here have a fair number of steps to reach them so if you have severe mobility issues it’s probably not the place for you.The property is 50-60 minutes from the airport and about an hour to Tikal which counts as convenient compared to many of the remote places we stayed on this trip. The road to the west is currently much better than the road to the west but is being upgraded as of August 2022. If you have driven on plenty of dirt roads, it’s really no bother at all but I can understand why people used to highways are put off. You don’t need a 4x4/SUV as the road, especially east of the property is not particularly steep.Service was always excellent, and staff never failed to welcome us with cold towels. Cocktails at the bar on the menu were very good, especially the negroni and Manhattan. Food is very good though not first class — generally simple style fresh and grilled, but tasty. The continental breakfast we got served in our room at 6am was perfect for an early-ish drive to Tikal. If you’ve visited other tourist locations in Guatemala, I’d give Flores a miss. There is a moderately challenging 7km jungle trek off the road close to El Remate that is very much worth spending a morning doing from here before returning to the pool/lake. Great for Relaxation and Stress-Free Vibes La Lancha is a place that I will be visiting again. The casitas are very cute and relaxing with the hammocks they provide on the deck area. The views are amazing, and the environment overall is very relaxing and peaceful. The lake you can swim in is a perfect area and the lake is said to have healing properties as well. If you’re not spiritual, it still is an amazing experience to swim in the lake. The staff at La Lancha are very kind and want nothing but the best for their visitors. There are various and a copious number of activities the resort provides as well. The food tastes delicious and is very fresh. All in all, my experience was great and relaxing and made me take my mind off certain stressors in my life. It was very much needed, and I would love to go there again. Date of stay: July 2022 |

La Lancha is a unique intimate place not to miss if you are visiting Guatemala. Thinking of it I remember my feel of rainforest, sounds of nature and peace of mind. Noe, the manager of La Lancha, kindly helped us with some complex logistics, connecting our trip destinations (which included helicopters, jet, boat and drivers) the best possible way, so we could see other parts of Guatemala and travel to Belize. He arranged our guided tours and activities. Noe made our trip interesting and very smooth. La Lancha is a boutique jungle small lodge and people who run it are lovely and caring.
